Road to the Horse 2008

"I received my 2010 RTTH DVD's on Wed. 6/23/10 - Yahooooo. It was awesome. Loved it!!!! I think next to Stacy Westfall, Craig Cameron has been the most enthusiastic winner in RTTH history! He did a good job. I enjoyed the opening ceremonies where the clinicians rode their own horses, and especially Richard & Sarah Winters riding together. I just about cried when they rode out of the arena holding hands. Very touching. Also really liked the segment with The One Arm Bandit (John Payne). He's an awesome rider and trainer. I'm so jealous of everyone that can be there in person, but at least I have the DVDs to watch over and over :) Magilla Gorilla, the mystery obstacle was fantastic too. I look forward to next year's DVD!" - Diane in Tucson, AZ

RTTH

Read what fans had to say about the 2011 RTTH Legends!

We live in Montana and a group of us got together and watched your presentation of Road to the Horse on Web Cam. It was so great to have that opportunity--Thank You! Also, a special thanks for including the Sunday church service--We Loved it! Thanks to all of you from all of us who watched from Montana. - Dick & Janya Olsen

This was my second year attending RTTH. Even as I am telling people about the event today I get chills all over, just as I did after each obstacle and freestyle performance that day!!! After Clinton's fast and furious bridleless ride, I thought, how is anyone going to top that? Then Chris Cox brings the house down! Then Pat Parelli exhibits his amazing bond with his colt ending with the large bouncing ball. FANTABULOUS!!! I learned so much that weekend. I bought my first horse as a birthday gift to myself at 50 years old and am striving to be the best horsewoman I can possibly be. Events like RTTH inspire me even more. THANK YOU for offering this fantastic event to the horse world. You are truly an amazing woman. - Dawn Brainard

Best Road to the Horse ever!! What will you do next year!! This is uour 4th RTTH. We come from Pennsylvania. It has been our vacation for the last 4 years, never disappointed, The arm bands worked great, I liked having the vendors inside but understand with the amount of people attending it was not possible. Missed Craig Cameron though...things come up. What a show!!! - Emeline Dugan

I just want to let you know how much I enjoyed watching TRTTH on the Web. It was great!! I have been to RTTH four times but finances would not allow me to go this year. So I was thrilled to learn I could watch it on the Web. I liked the format changes you made this year and I also enjoyed the different commentators input. The only thing I wish is that Clinton and Chris would have talked more during their training sessions. Over all though you put on a great show! I am looking forward to next year! - Suzanna Rucks

Just wanted to say thanks for one of the most wonderful weekends of my life!! I enjoyed every minute of it - even getting stuck in the mud!!! Even Sunday morning's worship service was one of the best I've heard - what a great preacher and so bold for Christ - a nice change in today's time. I do hope you have him back next year - I'd come just to hear him preach again. Thanks again - you did a superior job! - Joanne Johnk

Tootie, My name is Tamela Kelm and I am the one that you saved the Road to the Horse Ticket for Christmas (her husband purchased a Nation membership and ticket as a surprise for her). While at Road to the Horse I had the opportunity to have a short visit with you which I cherish so much. I hope everyone knows how much time and effort you put into putting on an event like Road to the Horse. I wanted to thank you again. It is something I look forward to each yr and sure was disappointed when I thought I was not going this yr. I did not get to speak to Linda and Pat like I wanted to but way to many people there for them to answer my questions so feel privileged just to get to watch all of the clinicians. I am saving my ticket and booklet Steve gave me for Christmas and thought that having the photo would really top it off. Again I really want to say thank you for all your hard work. You deserve the standing ovation! - Tamela Kelm

I watched the recent webcast of the RTTH and I want to thank Tootie and all of you who put the three clinicians together. What a great competition! It was great to see three very different approaches to starting a colt. This is the first time I've ever seen the event and the only reason why I tuned in was because Pat Parelli was added to the mix. I had never desired to see the event because many clinicians use the same approach and still use very old terms such as "breaking a colt" instead of "starting a colt" and "make" and "let" instead of "cause" and "allow". To some they are just words, but words ultimately they become our actions and our behaviors and define our character. Tootie, bravo for putting three very different clinicians together. It allows the audience to see how different approaches can be used to achieve outstanding results. I celebrate the differences in all of the clinicians and again am very thankful for a great show! Bravo! - Sincerely, Chris Carter, California, Proud to be Parelli

My RTTH Top Ten (no order) 1. Seeing Tootie again. She has never met a stranger. 2. Getting to see Pat in action. I haven't seen any of his colt starting techniques. ... 3. See old friends from across the nation. 4. Hearing/Knowing people who haven't seen all the clinicians get a taste of other techniques and philosophies. 5. Watching Clinton at this RTTH. I could see his skills has grown and taken this RTTH much more seriously than the last. 6. Seeing Pat bounce back from round one's buck off. Showed great poise, toughness and character. 7. Clinton is as entertaining as always. 8. Seeing Chris put the horse's needs ahead of the contest. I really feel that he would lose if it meant the horse wasn't ready for something. 9. Seeing people all over the hotel's breakfast area pray before eating. You don't see something like that everywhere. 10. Seeing Chris Cox win! Chris has helped me out numerous times with my horsemanship. He is a great cowboy, horseman and friend. - Facebook fan Clay Rose

My head is still spinning. The best show on earth for sure. Thousands of dollars of education and Thousands of great memories. Pat and Chris put on one heck of a performance and really connected with their colts. All the colts were wonderful some of the best were not used. Picking one out of that bunch must have been hard. Great job Tootie. - Facebook fan Seth Doulton

I enjoyed the Road to the Horse competition in Murfreesboro, TN. This was my third RTTH and it was the most exciting horse event I have EVER attended. I went to this event not really a true fan of any of the clinicians in particular and came away a fan of all of them. Each clinician won me over in his own way. I came away with a great appreciation for the fact that natural horsemanship is the only way to start a colt, or to work with an older horse. While there were subtle differences in each competitors methods, the welfare of the horse was at the forefront for each of them. All of the clinics and the actual colt training had me riveted to my seat from day one. The larger volume of vendors was a great plus, as was having the vendors set up in the tent outside the arena. It made shopping easier and cut down on the congestion inside the arena. I cannot wait to purchase my tickets for next year! Thank you. - Debra Mason of Chapel Hill, TN

WOW!!! Best event ever. The spectators showed impressive knowledge by cheering whenever the cinicians were able to accomplish even the slightest gain. Doesn't it say a lot that a whole arena full of people understand and appreciate the changes in the horse training methods that these clinicians have brought to the public! Thank you. - JoAnne from Virginia

Just wanted to thank you for the fantastic show at Murfreesboro last weekend. This was our first attendance at one of these, but will certainly not be our last. It was everything my wife and I hoped it would be, and we gained a lot of knowledge that will assist me in working with a young two-year-old I am starting. Thank you for a first rate show that was well organized and wonderfully presented. - Dan & Sherry Chambers of Grove Port, Ohio

Congratulations on THE MOST FANTASTIC EQUINE EVENT I'VE EVER BEEN TO! No one does it better than you!!!!!! - Susan Stallings from Apex, NC

Greatest event that I have ever had the pleasure of attending!!! Thank you for putting together the three greatest clinicians of our time. I came away with a renewed respect for each one of them. Keep up the fantastic job. You are greatly appreciated. May God bless you and yours. Thank You Again! - A forever RTTH Nations member, C. Atchison (a 5 button member)

I finally have time to tell you how much I enjoyed my very first RTTH last weekend! I entered "horsey world" late in the game - got my first horse at age 51 and did not ride much before that - and only knew of RTTH in a vague sort of way. When I heard that 'my Aussie guy' was going to compete against Pat Parelli and Chris Cox though, I was ON BOARD to be there! What a great three days! I thought I was having fun until the competition actually started, and then I was RIVETED to my seat. It is facinating to watch a trainer do what they do so well. Although Clinton did not win and I was sad about that, I know that Chris truly deserved to win. I have a new appreciation for him and what he does. I loved the special parking for Nation members. Loved the doors opening for us an hour early. Congratulations to you and your crew. I'm sure it was stressful and tiring for all of you, but you did fantastic! I will be back! - Stephany Carter

Hi Tootie, I had the wonderful chance to volunteer at the RTTH. (My son was the one who wouldn't let you in the door, lol). I just wanted to say thank you so much for allowing us to help. It was BREATHTAKING... I can't stop thinking of this weekend and what an amazing show was put on. I almost didn't get to go because I had just had back surgery but I wasn't aboout to miss it. I was hoping for tickets but couldn't afford them, but I actually really enjoyed volunteering and hope me and my son will get to do it again next year. Just wanted to give you a big thanks for what you do. Jamie Smith
