Applications are accepted on a continual basis

Thank you for your interest in competing in Road to the Horse. Each year, we look for the top horse trainers, who use kind methods to effectively teach both horses and horse owners. Education and integrity are our primary goals. Participating clinicians must also be eloquent and lively speakers and great entertainers.

Our application process allows us to get to know new and upcoming horse trainers. To apply, please fill out the following application pack. Return this pack along with your videos approximately a year and a half before the show year when you'd like to participate. For example, participants for the 2012 event will be selected prior to the 2011 winner announcement (unless the winner determines who will compete again).

Please note: the materials you send cannot be returned due to the amount of applications we receive. We'll contact you if our producers and judges are interested in you after reviewing your application and videos. The management reserves the right to invite celebrity horse trainers.

Application Checklist
(PLEASE MAKE THREE COPIES OF ALL PAPERWORK IN ADDITION TO THE 3 COPIES OF EACH VIDEO):
1. Application Sheet
2. Bio
3. Essay
4.Video submission of colt starting process/ riding demo on finished horse, 3 copies required.
5. Video submission of clinic setting (need not be colt starting). 3 copies required.
6. Three letters of support
